Dear Parent/Guardian,
We are always grateful for parent volunteers to hear children read during the school day, as this provides an extra opportunity to develop their reading skills on a daily basis. If you are able to offer your time to hear children read, whether this is in your own child's year group or another in the school, please let us know by completing the form below. Please note that parent volunteers usually support the school one session each week, so please don't feel that by ticking all the boxes you are signing up to volunteering full time! The boxes are there to provide us with your availability so that we can work a schedule that fits in with the class timetable.
Could you also indicate if you have previously been a parent reader. New parent volunteers will be trained in approaches when reading with children and will need to be subject to a DBS criminal records check as part of our essential safeguarding procedures.
