Holidays during term time
Taking your child out of school during term time could be detrimental to your child’s educational progress. The Education (Pupil Registration) (England) Regulations 2006 have been amended as from 1st September 2013. All references to family holidays and extended leave have been removed, together with the right for parents to apply for up to ten days holiday during term time.
The new amended regulations 2013 prohibit Head Teachers granting leave of absence to a pupil except where an application has been made in advance and the Head Teacher considers that there are exceptional circumstances relating to the application.
